"The Banksi Tee celebrates the birth of our eighth grandchild just before Christmas 2019. As large areas of NSW were devastated in the bushfires before and after Christmas, I decided to donate the sales of this pattern to my local rural fire service in Dalmeny. Banksia symbolise a new beginning after bushfires. The jumper is based on one that Mum and I used to knit about thirty years ago. They’re great for popping in a baby over a onesie on cold mornings and easy to knit as there are now no seams. It is worked in the round until the armholes then backwards and forwards. The sleeves are worked in the round on the smaller circulars. You need a stitch marker and you need to know how to do a three needle bind off for the shoulder joins."
