Introducing Our Nancy Tee Knit-A-Long!

Introducing Our Nancy Tee Knit-A-Long!

We’re thrilled to announce our Nancy Tee Knit-A-Long, where we work together on our PT 8669 Nancy Tee projects and share our experiences in a Facebook group! This project will commence in October 2024 and run for around eight weeks. Read on to find out more about Knit-A-Longs and how to participate.

What is a Knit-A-Long?

A Knit-A-Long (KAL) is an event for knitters to come together and work on a specific pattern or project at the same time.  Some KALs will take place face to face, while others will use social media and various apps.

Participants share their progress, exchange tips, and celebrate each other's achievements, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere. KALs are perfect for anyone looking to connect with fellow knitting enthusiasts, whether you're just starting out or have years of experience.

Why participate in a Knit-A-Long?

  1. Community Connection: By working on the same project at the same time, you can connect with others, others, share ideas, and find inspiration.
  2. Motivation: Working alongside others helps keep you motivated. Seeing your peers progress on the same project can encourage you to stick with it! Great for those of us who struggle to finish off our projects.
  3. Skill Building: KALs can be a great way to tackle a project with some new-to-you skills, with lots of people learning at the same time.
  4. Fun and Creativity: Sharing your projects and admiring others’ progress can be fun and inspiring – you might find someone else making modifications that you can add to your project.

Our newest Knit-A-Long: the Nancy Tee!

We’re thrilled to announce our Nancy Tee Knit-A-Long, hosted in our private Facebook group! Our General Manager, Kai, will be hosting this event and making the Nancy Tee over the course of the next eight weeks, sharing her progress as she knits this garment and sharing tips and tricks with other knitters.

The Nancy Tee has a difficulty rating of three out of five, so it’s suitable for intermediate knitters or adventurous beginners keen to learn. This pattern features a wide range of sizes and has a retro feel that we absolutely love. You’ll need between 2 and 4 balls of your favourite BWM 8 ply yarn – it is designed for Spring Cotton 8 ply but you could make it from wool or cotton if you would prefer. We’ll discuss how to choose the best yarn for your project!

How to join:

Here’s how you can join in:

  •     Join the Group: Join our private Facebook group to connect with fellow crafters. You can unfollow or leave the group at any time.
  •     Purchase the Pattern: Grab the Nancy pattern, available in digital format or as a hard copy.
  •     Choose your yarn: Choose a yarn to use, knit a gauge swatch, and make sure you have all the supplies you need.
  •     Begin at Your Own Pace: This KAL is self-paced, meaning you can work on it whenever it fits your schedule.

The best part? There’s no cost or requirements to enter! It’s an open invitation to craft alongside a welcoming community.

So, come join us, be inspired, and let’s create something beautiful together.

Happy knitting!
