The Ruby Vest - Adults Knitting Pattern | PT 8685

A bold colourwork vest in 8 ply, featuring a classic v-neck and worked in the round.

Construction

Knit in the round from the bottom up, then divided for armholes, then shaped. Stitches are picked up to knit neckband and armbands in the round. Colourwork pattern (one stitch CC, one stitch MC).

Tension

22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over colour pattern in stocking stitch using 4.00mm needles. Note: ensure to carefully check your tension before beginning the garment, as colourwork is likely to change your tension. You may find it beneficial to knit two tension swatches, one knit in-the-round and one knit flat, to ensure consistent tension throughout the garment. 

Suitable Yarns

Samples shown in Whisper 8 ply. This pattern is suitable for any of our 8 ply wool yarns like Luxury 8 ply or Classic 8 ply. (Equivalent yarns: DK or Light Worsted).

Accessories

1 pair each 3.25mm and 4.00mm circular needles, or size needles to give correct tension, 3 stitch-holders.
